Tibenský, Martin
Tibenský, M. The Growth of the Influence of Nationalist Parties in Selected EU Countries as a Consequence of EU Crises since the 1990s,, Diploma Thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2022 The aim of this thesis is to identify the links between EU crises since the 1990s and the influence of nationalist groups and whether these crises have contributed to the very growth of these entities. The research part is devoted to the definition of terms related to the main goals for a better understanding of the issue or the division of nationalism. The work moves smoothly into its practical part, where we evaluate the characteristic features of the groupings by selecting nationalist entities in individual member states of the European Union and subsequent analysis. By comparing, we evaluate the common and different elements of the policy of these parties. In the next part of the work we analyze already selected crises and use the tables to evaluate the results. Finally, the results of the individual crises are affected by the impact of rising nationalist tendencies within selected countries of the European Union. If an increase in impact is demonstrated, measures will be proposed to combat this negative phenomenon.

Approaches to the Hungarian minority in Slovakia in issues of minority education and the possibility of subsequent application in the working process
Dlábik, Ľubomír ; Irmanová, Eva (advisor) ; Balla, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis clarifies the issue of Triadic nexus among Slovakia, Hungary and the Hungarian minority concerning education and economic access to areas inhabited by the Hungarian minority, which affect the graduates of minority schools in the Slovak labor market. At the same time it aspires to refer to this relationship as one of the factors that may impact on reduction in the number of members of the Hungarian minority in Slovakia. The main focus is on the trilateral approach to the issue of education in the Slovak minority schools in Hungarian language in case of teaching the state language. The consequences of the different trilateral relation approach to minority education can lead to inefficiency of minority schools teaching Slovak language, which can, in conjunction with the current economic approach of Slovakia to the areas inhabited by the Hungarian minority, lead to migratory pressures on graduates of minority schools as for the choice of university studies and their employability. The lack of language skills reduces their competitiveness and flexibility compared to linguistically better equipped individuals. The statistical data in education, employment and population movements that will be analyzed and compared, are freely available, and confirm this hypothesis.

The Influence of Nationalistic Ideology on Education System in Early 20th Century Japan: Ethics Textbooks
Valková, Henrieta ; Labus, David (advisor) ; Weber, Michael (referee)
Since the end of World War II, intellectuals not only in the West but also in Japan itself have been looking for the answer to the question which conditions and ideological mechanisms convinced regular Japanese to support the militaristic government and to be willing to give their lives in service of their country. This apex of ultranationalism in the 1930s and 1940s is interesting also because less than a hundred years before the conclusion of the tragedy of the Pacific war, it is impossible to speak of a feeling of national affilliation among the people of Japan, much less so of nationalism. Therefore this diploma thesis will be commenced by a description of the historical origin and development of national consciousness from the late Tokugawa period and the gradual formation of various types of nationalism in the Meiji period, which originated from this consciousness. As part of this topic I will introduce the main elements of the so-called family state ideology, which was the central idea within Japanese nationalism and which tried to connect the hearts of all citizens with the interests of the state by means of the traditional confucian model of family relations. The main purpose of this thesis is the analysis of the process by which this ideology was spread and intensified in the field of...

The others are two most prominent projects of the club; building of the view tower on the hill Svatobor and publishing of written tour guide Průvodce po Šumavě. At the same time the thesis concerns technical conditions of these projects as well as response to them and their impact on public. Impact of the international community on ethnic conflicts in the Western Balkans
Hrušík, Michal ; Barša, Pavel (advisor) ; Stojarová, Věra (referee) ; Polišenská, Milada (referee)
The dissertation is aimed at the analysis of various strategies and approaches of the international community in solving conflicts having originated due to the dissolution of former Yugoslavia since 1991. It is divided into two sections - the former being devoted to the historiographical description of events taking place in the particular countries with main focus on various peace plans and other initiatives proposed and suggested by the international community, while the latter emphasizes potential security threats that might be faced by the region. At the same time it is trying to offer lessons from the mistakes and failures made in the past, since these could become relevant for the international community when dealing with potential new conflicts. Current probability of the origin of new security threats in the form of ethnic conflicts was selected as the main criterion for the selection of countries analyzed in the dissertation - this is also why Croatia is excluded; although it was a significant player of ethnic conflict in 1991-95, due to considerable elimination of Serbian minority representation as a result of the Operation Storm this country does not further constitute a relevant melting pot, where ethnically motivated tensions could rise again. Hence, the analysis is targeted at two...
